I really had nothing to do today, so I decided to go down to Chinatown to get some dim sum.
I stopped at Vancouver City Hall to work up an appetite. There’s a nice park out back.
Ya know those weird giant heads on Easter Island?
Well I think I may have found the rest of their bodies.
And it was strangely appropriate that I was wearing this shirt for this pic at this time (Don’t think I didn’t hear you say, “Anytime is appropriate for you.” I heard you. Shut up!) because immediately after, I went into the train station behind me, and realized that I left my bank card at home.
So now instead of a six block walk to the train one way, it’s three ways, and eleventy hunnit blocks. (Trust me here. I did the math.)
The thing about these cranes is someone has climbed up there to bolt the thing together. Crazy shit.
I may have ducked into the alley after buying a couple of tall cans while transferring trains. Maybe.
The arches at the west entrance to Chinatown.
Lunch. Finally. It’s already 4PM and I’m starving. You have to chew this stuff forever. Not because it’s chewy or tough, but because you want it to never leave your mouth. Well worth the wait.
Stopped by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park. It is real peaceful. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t smoke a joint here.
So now I’m home on tumblr.
See that pipe there. Remember how in yesterday’s post it was clear. Well it’s made of “Red Eye Glass”. It gradually changes color the more you use it. I might have already used it a lot.
Oh, and now that I have the munchies again, I just remembered…
I couldn’t leave Chinatown without picking up snacks to go.
Marinated duck liver and gizzards. Yummmm!
And marinated pork tongue.
TOTALLY french kissing a pig right now.
Tomorrow is payday. Who knows what kind of adventures that might bring.
This is what happens when you get coupons in the mail. It actually wasn’t bad.
I went to Tom Lee Music to get some strings and picks. Six floors packed full of instruments. A musician’s nirvana.
Doing my civic duty reminding the tourists that Vancouver is also known for its marijuana.
Bored Ed is bored.
Let’s go shopping.
Marc Emery got extradited to the States to face charges from selling marijuana seeds through the mail online. He’s now serving time down there. It was a big deal in Canada. I don’t know if most of you have heard of him.
Tumblr Support is unfortunately a waste of time. Anyone who asks, comments, or complains about the Missing e situation is getting a canned response. They're LITERALLY sending the EXACT same response to EVERYONE concerning Missing e. Much better to just go directly to the source-- David Karp's ask box (since the Tumblr staff doesn't have one-- surprise, surprise). I've linked to it on my blog...
I’m sure everyone knows by now that tumblr is going to shut down missing e. I’m also sure that most of you don’t want that to happen, but it will.
Let your voice be heard. Email tumblr at “firstname.lastname@example.org” and let them know that you want missing e to stay. And reblog this. If enough people show their concern over its loss, they may choose to keep missing e. We all know it makes tumblr better, so don’t be lazy. You’ll regret it later if you don’t email them and missing e is lost forever.
Saudi Arabia, which contains one of the largest expanses of desert in the world, is forced to import sand. River sand is sent to Arabia by the ton from Scotland for use in construction; desert sands are not suitable for building purposes.
